When I was a little girl I would always try to figure out ways to save things or fix them up for reuse. I loved going to my grandma's house because she always had a new project to show me - from knitting, crocheting, bargello stitching, cross stitch, and embroidery - there was never a craft that she couldn't master. In high school I discovered my other grandma's sewing machine and from my own trials and (many) errors I made my very first t-shirts and a purse out of denim jeans. From there I realized there was nothing in the world like imagining a new idea and making it come to life.

Life took over and I got distracted with my 20's but in 2011 when my little sister passed away from Cystic Fibrosis I was suddenly the proud new owner of grief and a whole bunch of unfinished knitting projects. I retaught myself how to knit and crochet and when my son was born in 2014 I began making him his own stuffed toys. I immediately knew that I wanted to be the type of mom that he could come to with an idea and I could make it happen. So far in my parenting journey I have hand sewn teddy bears out of onesies, stuffed crocheted food items, performed many surgeries on stuffies, crocheted hats, made Boppy pillow covers, halloween costumes, spirit day outfits, blankets, pillows, and even tiny sleeping bags for his favorite stuffies.

Eventually when the pandemic hit I knew the best way to help early on was to make as many masks as I possibly could with my tiny little Singer machine. This is where the idea for Kelmars & Co began.

In 2021 I officially formed my business and began with tote bags, scrunchies, and headbands. With YOUR help, I have now grown into what I am today - a small modern boutique for humans, pets, and whatever is in between.

Because everyone deserves to feel special.
